Florida Approval Status

Since 1998, the NoMound onsite system has been approved for use in Florida under the Department of Health regulations as an “Innovative System”. The first NoMound onsite system has been in continuous, proper operation since March 1999.

The FL DOH is in the process of an administrative revision of its regulations. In this revision, NoMound will be included as a “Performance-based” system.

The equipment supplied and procedures to be followed are essentially identical – whether innovative or performance-based.

Current and future Florida DOH regulations require that the design and construction certification be provided by a Florida-licensed Professional Engineer (PE). NoMound Systems of Florida has trained and authorized a number of PEs to provide this service. Current and future Florida DOH regulations also require that each system has a valid operating permit and maintenance entity contract. NoMound Systems of Florida has trained and authorized a number of companies to provide the O&M service.

This patented system is only available through a network of engineers and installers trained by NoMound. The network does not currently encompass the entire state. For information on the NoMound Onsite System and its availability in a specific location in Florida, please refer to the Florida Authorized Installers & Service Providers section of this web site.
